Hunt Em' Up

Raglan's a gun dog. No doubt about it. After 5 months of solid training, he proved himself in the field this last weekend. He worked hard, found us birds, and retrieved every single one to hand. On some occasions he chased down the birds and caught them. I couldn't be more proud of this guy. As Pat and I were hunting him, he definitely got winded along the way, but endurance and 8 month old don't go side by side. Give him time, experience and he'll be an awesome gun dog.

Snow Dogs

Dogs love snow, they love eating it, running on it wrestling around it. Anything snow is just amazing to them. A couple weeks ago, we took Raglan and Coop up to Tahoe. It was Raglans first time and he flipped out. Cooper being a seasoned snow dog showed him the ropes, and they were soon running around having a blast in the stuff. The crew scored super close parking, so we had a chance to check up on the dogs every so often. It was a great day of boarding for us, and snow play for the pups.

Relentlessly Wrestling

Watching our dogs play, we've seen more head bashing, body slams mixed in with Mike Tyson ear bites in the last month, than ANY MMA bout. They don't stop, they won't stop, and just when you think they're about to stop, they start again. It truly is relentless. This dog play behavior can go on for 30-40 minutes at a time. It's just nuts.

One thing that we've learned in this last month is, without any uncertainty Cooper and Raglan are bound to be lifelong friends. If one is in the front yard and the other in the house, they anxiously whine and bark until they get to tackle one another. Running trails together, they tag along after each other, sniffing the same things, exploring this new world to them.

Pictures of camping, beaches and the overall good life are on the horizon. So stay tuned. Once Coop gets his last set of shots, the world is their dog bowl. Eat it up.
